Watch your step please

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way." Pa. 37:23

G

od files the flight plan.  God sets the course.  God knows the way.  God knows the best way.

When Israel left Egypt God chose the route.  It was "Not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near…" Ex. 13:17.  When we catch up to God's people again in chapter 14 they are afraid.  They said to Moses, in effect, "this is not the way."  It must have been hard for this reluctant leader to listen to a million people tell him that he was wrong.  Today the church is so worldly that it seems they have never left Egypt and many of those who have have gone the way of the Philistines, because it is near.  Moses must listen to one voice.  The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD.  The problem with the direction in the Exodus was not the "lay of the land" as much as the "way of the land."  Going north east would have been a "short cut" to the promised land.  God took them through the wilderness.  There are no "short cuts" to God's Kingdom.

We are called to Do Right and then no matter what the result of doing right, we should "delight,"  because it is God's way.

It's not just words or the way we talk
What matters most is the way we walk
And it would be best for friend and brother
If our lips don't go one way
and we another
