|   Take Good Care of Yourself

(1Cor. 6:19-20)
 T
ake good care of yourself, you belong to me.A line from the song written in 1929 (a difficult year) entitled “Button up your Overcoat,” is good advice. The believer has a better song. The believer belongs to God, lock, stock, and barrel. “What,” says the Bible, “know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have of God, and that you are not your own, for ye are bought with a price? Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s” The believer should not need Congress to codify our character or control our conduct. The laws of Nature, like the laws of Sodom and Gomorrah are trumped by a higher law. “I beseech ye therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service.” Take good care of yourself, you belong to God. What would happen if every believer believed this and asked God for the discipline of a disciple, and dedicated their body, soul, and spirit to Him ?  The Lord’s Table, the Money-Changer's Table, and the Kitchen Table would all be seen in a different light. We don’t live to eat, we eat to live. We don’t live to take, we but seek to give.   In reading 1Cor. 6:19-20, I can almost hear God say, “Take good care of yourself, you belong to Me.”  -id
