TV

TV is a modern temple and a shrine
and here we people sacrifice our time
How many hours have on its altars lain?
No one can count the precious minutes slain.

Its greatest evil is not the lust and crime
although that is bad enough and moral slime
A greater sin is all the time that's wasted
while real life is lost and never tasted

Each holy second of life is heaven's gift
Life will soon be gone for time is swift
and when at last life's over we will find
too much was wasted on this temple of the blind

Wait, don't touch that dial
instead take down that book, or walk a mile.
Write that letter to that friend
or call your children and play pretend

or open the blessed holy book
and rather into heaven look
and quietly slip down on bended knee
close thy eyes and see eternity-  id
