| |   Driving up Daisies
While some may call it dying
 or “cashing in their chips,”
 or in the coffin lying
 with ever silent lips

To others it is “biting dust”
 Or “kicking off your boots”
for dem what’s given to vanity,
it’s a tie and fancy suits.

A chance to ride in limousines
and once more put on airs
to find out- what life really means
And who shows up and cares

Sometimes we say “they bought the farm”
 although I don’t know why.
 Today, today hear God’s alarm,
 don’t wait until you die.

We don’t like to talk of it,
 and so this written verse
Before that final drive, some wit-
 Prepare for Him and Hearse

 -id
