On Second Thought

Some words are better left unsaid
if spoken when hearts are wroth
far better to wait and use the head
than to talk with crippled thought

Easy to curse and blast away
at what appears to be a foe
to speak in anger, have your say
and  to just let your temper blow

when you are wronged or treated ill
by those who should know better
don’t you respond with words to kill
Why not simply write a letter?

Dip your pen in impassioned  ink
like a hawk tearing into prey
write it down, what you feel and think
Then tear it up and throw away
