Waiting for God

Abraham tried to hurry things
giving Hagar Sarah’s place
impetuosity often brings
sorrow and disgrace.
Today this son of Abraham
still Isaac does deride
and does a burning hatred fan
spreading wide an evil tide
When God says “stay,” tis wise to wait
in the upper room for fire,
for the God of time is never late,
will not tarry, and does not tire.
