Pity Party

Self Pity is a party, as far as parties go

That poisons all the party’s guests

And feeds each one with woe.

And to pity self is such a waste

of time and space and all--

and leaves the guest of honor

in his mouth the taste of gall.

To have a pity party for self is such a sin

because it makes too much of self and

dwells too much within.

A fool is at the center, and that steals all the fun

I better say "no thank you," I really cannot come.
